Make a tangible difference for Maui’s fragile marine ecosystems on Trilogy’s Blue ‘Aina Reef Cleanup Project, an educational and hands-on conservation adventure. Volunteers join Trilogy Captains, Crew, and marine conservation experts for an immersive day dedicated to protecting the island’s reefs, marine life, and coastal environment. This excursion combines meaningful environmental stewardship with the opportunity to learn about Hawaiian culture, ocean ecology, and sustainable practices firsthand.
Held one or two times per month, participants snorkel or free-dive to recover trash, debris, and abandoned net balls that choke coral reefs and threaten turtles, fish, and other marine life. Each event is guided by our trained Crew and Non-Profit representatives, who provide insights into reef conservation and the life cycles of Maui’s iconic marine species. Hydrophones allow volunteers to experience the underwater sounds of the ocean, giving a deeper connection to the environment they are protecting.
Beyond the reef, the program fosters community engagement and education. Corporate sponsors and non-profit partners join volunteers in cleanup efforts, often donating $1,000 per event to support local environmental programs. These partnerships offer volunteers the chance to learn from experts, connect with like-minded conservationists, and participate in a lasting, positive impact on the island. Volunteers are also treated to a sponsored breakfast or lunch, ensuring a fun, social, and rewarding experience.
