Opens with traditional Hawaiian blowing of conch shell or pū kani. \nHeld every Saturday throughout the rest of 2025\, weather-permitting\, 6:30-7:30 pm at the Kuhio Beach Hula Mound in Waikīkī. We do not have shows if Kalākaua Ave. is closed for parades or block parties. \nLocated on the ocean side of Kalākaua Avenue near the Duke Kahanamoku Statue\, diagonally across from the Hyatt Regency hotel. \nFree\, outdoors\, casual\, seating on the grass; beach chairs\, mats\, etc. okay. Cameras welcome. Sponsored by the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority\, Aloha Festivals\, the City & County of Honolulu\, Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa and Waikiki Improvement Association. For information\, call 808-843-8002. \nKuhio Beach Hula Show history and origin: \nThe Kuhio Beach Hula Show began in February 1994 as “Mōlehu I Waikīkī (Twilight in Waikiki).” The program was designed to showcase authentic Hawaiian hula and music by local hālau and musicians. Unlike Polynesian revues\, content is 100% Hawaiian. \nIn 2000\, in its commitment to bring a “Hawaiian Sense of Place” back to Waikīkī  the City adopted the cultural template of noted Hawaiian cultural practitioner and historian Dr. George Kanahele to construct an authentic pā hula or hula mound\, which was dedicated to hula in a traditional blessing ceremony conducted by Kumu John Lake. This resulted in a permanent pā hula at Kuhio Beach\, designed specifically for this Hawaiian hula program.

Leashed dogs are welcome to stroll too. Kokua Kailua stretches from Kailua Pier through Historic Kailua Village to Hualalai Road. Highlights include more than 100 vendor booths showcasing the work of local artisans and crafters\, musicians\, and merchants offering a fantastic shopping experience and delicious dining options.

Volunteers have provided the hard work and dedication that it takes to rehabilitate our native ecosystem and have achieved amazing results in the preserve. Together\, we build trails\, clear weeds\, plant trees\, collect native seeds\, and propagate the plants that will grow into our future forests. \n  \nWe provide tools\, gloves\, safety equipment\, and water\, but please bring sun protection\, a refillable water bottle\, and sturdy shoes. We meet at the Waikōloa Dry Forest Preserve front gate at 8 am and finish with refreshments at 12 pm.
